Individual Training Accounts - In some cases, eligible Rhode Islanders can access federal Workforce Investment Act funds (up to $5,500) to subsidize the cost of tuition at post secondary colleges, trade schools or other qualified educational institutions.

Customized Training - Customized Training is a flexible, dynamic, and responsive program that allows local employers to work with the public workforce development system in meeting their short- and long-term labor needs. It puts the employer (or a group of employers with similar workforce needs) in the driver’s seat, allowing for the creation of a customized training curriculum that addresses a business’ specific occupational and soft skills requirements. Customized Training offers employers recruiting assistance and offsets recruiting and training costs for the company.  The employer match for the cost of training will range from 10% to 50% of the cost of the training based on the size of the company.
